How we handle your data

Last updated: June 2026 · perseoapp.com

Who we are

Perseo is the controller of the data collected through perseoapp.com and the myPerseoApp customer portal (https://my.perseoapp.com). For any request concerning your personal data, you can write to hello@perseoapp.com.

What data we collect

We collect only the data needed to provide the service. Depending on how you use the website and customer portal, we may process:

  • Contact data — name (or business name), email, phone (optional), submitted via the free SEO Report or the contact form.
  • Account data — email, password (set only after you approve the report), language and service preferences.
  • Data about your website — domain address, pages and public content that we analyse to generate the report and, if you become a customer, to optimise and translate it.
  • Traffic and ranking data — if you connect your account to Google's search data (Search Console), we process the metrics it provides: search queries, clicks, impressions, average position, country and device. Some queries may contain information that could identify a person (e.g. a name typed as a search term): we treat this as indirect data, never as personal profiling data about you.
  • Technical and security data — IP address and browser type associated with your customer-portal login session, used only for account security (e.g. detecting unusual access) and never for advertising profiling.
  • Communication data — the emails we send you (registration confirmation, report ready, activation instructions) include an open-tracking indicator, used only to confirm that important messages reached you.

We do not collect special-category data (GDPR Art. 9: health, religion, political opinions, etc.) and we do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal effects on you.

Anonymous, cookieless analytics of website visits Legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it (GDPR Art. 6.1.f) — see Cookie Policy

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data to anyone. We only share it with providers that help us run the service, all bound by GDPR-compliant data processing agreements:

  • Hosting and data-processing provider — hosts the website, the customer portal and the related data, on servers in the European Union.
  • Transactional email service — sends our service emails (confirmation, report, notifications) on our behalf.
  • Search engines and ranking data services — if you connect your account, we receive traffic and search data from the search engine you choose (e.g. Google Search Console) to generate reports.
  • Automatic translation services — translate your website's public content into the target languages you choose. No personal data is transmitted, only the public text of the website.
  • Content analysis and generation-assist services — support optimisation and the creation of new pages based on your website's public content.
  • Error-monitoring service — alerts us to technical issues in the customer portal, to keep it stable.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. In those cases, the transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or an equivalent adequacy mechanism.

We never share your data with other companies for third-party marketing purposes.

Connecting Google Search Console

If you choose to connect your Google account to myPerseoApp, we request read-only access to the Search Console data for the property you specify (search queries, clicks, impressions, average position, country and device). We do not request or obtain access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any other Google service — only to your website's ranking data.

Our use of data obtained through Google's APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: we use this data exclusively to provide the report and SEO optimisation you requested, we do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to third parties other than the providers strictly necessary to operate this feature, under the same safeguards described on this page. Only authorised members of our team access this data, and only to provide or improve the service.

You can revoke access at any time from your Google account (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or by asking us to disconnect it: data already received is deleted within 30 days of revocation.

How long we keep your data

  • Free SEO Report leads (if you don't become a customer): up to 12 months from the request, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Customer account data: for the duration of the service, plus the time required for tax/accounting obligations after termination.
  • Traffic and ranking data (Search Console): for as long as the account is connected; removed within 30 days of disconnection.
  • Technical and security logs: a maximum of 90 days, unless needed for an ongoing security-incident investigation.

Your rights

As a data subject, you can at any time:

  • Request access to, a copy of, correction or deletion of your data.
  • Request restriction of processing or object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
  • Request portability of the data you provided to us directly.
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interest (e.g. visit analytics).
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali — if you believe processing violates the law.

To exercise these rights, write to hello@perseoapp.com: we respond within 30 days.

How we protect your data

Data is transmitted and stored over encrypted connections. Passwords are never readable by anyone, including us: they are stored in an irreversible form. Access tokens for third-party services (e.g. Search Console) are encrypted at rest. Access to data by our team is limited to those who actually need it to operate the service.

Children

The service is intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

We may update this notice to reflect changes to the service or applicable law. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the website before they take effect.

This notice is available in English only. In case of any discrepancy between this version and any future translation, the English version shall prevail.
